Natural Garden

The Natural Garden is characterized by untrimmed trees, woodland paths, and meandering streams. This arrangement makes the observer feel as if they are in a forest area. Moss serves as the primary ground cover. Paths lead you to hidden areas in the woods. As you turn a corner you never know what you may encounter. If your path were to run into the meandering stream, you would not find a bridge to traverse it. Instead you would cross the water on flat stones rising out of the stream. Bridges are seldom used in this style to give more of a natural feel. The primary plants found in this style of garden would be ferns, bamboos, rhododendrons, and dogwoods, just to name a few. Rather than having benches for the observer to rest on, they may be invited to relax on a tree stump or a log. This also contributes to the naturalistic feeling.
